vIMPLEMENTATION OF INDIRECT VECTOR CONTROL TO INDUCTIONMOTOR WITH SOFT SWITCHING INVERTER(Ph.D. Thesis)Nihat ÖZTÜRKGAZI UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYSeptember 2006ABSTRACTIn this thesis, the speed control of the vector controlled induction motor hasbeen implemented by using hard switching and soft switching inverters. ATMS320F243 digital signal processor is used to implement control algorithmduring practical implementation. With the use of the vector control, complexstructure of the controller has been simplified, and dependence to variations ofthe motor parameters has been reduced. Switching losses arising from hardswitching method are mainly decreased with the designed soft switchingmethod. Therefore, total efficiency of the system has been increased. Switchingsignals of the main switches are independent from main switching signals of theauxiliary switches in the proposed method. The method can be applied to thePWM inverter by setting up proper switching strategies.Science Code :703.3.012Key Words :Induction motor, Vector control, Soft switching inverter,Zero current switching, Zero current transitionPage Number :134Adviser :Prof. Dr. Güngör BAL
