Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of variamine blue, methyl oranges and phenol red on 4 different concentrations, % 3.5 NaCl and 0.1 M Na2SO4 solution in mild steel and copper corrosion behaviors were investigated by using potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. After exposure of the metal surface to the chloride and sulfate environment, the surface morphology was scanned by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The effect of temperature was studied in the range of 25 °C to 60 °C. Some thermodynamic parameters have been calculated and explained. It has been found that variamine blue, methyl orange and phenol red can prevent mild steel and copper corrosion in % 3.5 NaCl and 0.1 M Na2SO4 solution. However, it has been observed that the inhibition efficiency decreases with increasing temperature. Inhibition effect of dyes; It is detected by the fact that corrosion products, which are physically adsorbed on the metal surface with dyes, form a protective film on the metal surface.
