Abstract (EN)
Yunus Emre, who was an Anatolian Sufizm mysticism and folk poed between the years 1238-1328, put forward a unique of the dervish lodge poem tradition. He depicted themes such as death, birth, love of Allâh, love of humanity in his poems in such a plainand fluent manner. These works, which were written in both aruzand syllabic meter, werw composed and have been going around throught Word of mouth throughout history. Unlike Yunus Emre's other poems, his work şathiye named I Went Up on The Plum Branch was written in a simple looking yet complex manner, supported by symbolism. This şathiye has attracted the attention of many historians and literators, and many different commentarys have been made for this poem. These commentarys are Şeyhzâde Muslihüddin Mehmed Efendi, Niyazi-i Mısri, İsmail Hakkı Bursevi, Şeyh Ali Nakşibendî en-Nevrekani, İbrahim Has Şabani, Şevket Turgut Çulpan, Ahmet Kabaklı, İsmail Yakıt. These commentators have interpreted the sembolisms and meanings in the şathiye differently as a result of their own inner world and accumulated knowledge and presented them to the public. In this study, we examined eight of the commentarys of this şathiye of Yunus Emre. The study found that in mystical commentaries, the meanings assigned tosymbols often overlap significantly, andthe Nevrekani and Kabaklı commentaries are likely influenced by the Mısri commentary due to their considerable similarities. It also noted that the Şabani commentary exhibits a richer interpretation of symbols compared to the other mentioned commentators. It highlighted that Çulpan's commentary is predominantly focused on exegesis, while Yakıt's commentary, though described as philosophical, contains features of mystical commentary.
