Abstract (EN)

Building evaluation is comprehensive. The evaluation could aim to achieve the information about the use of the building and its places, building structural system, durability against earthquake forces, its fire safety, the uses and the maintanence of the building services etc. One of the building evaluation method's Post-occupancy Evaluation reveals the positive and negative sides of the building after its occupancy. The first examples of post occupancy evaluation is more about the use of place and user survey; in the proceed studies like control list as a technical evaluation include constructional safety, fire safety, user safety and etc. Building evaluation is based on the laws and regulations and standarts of the region or the country where the building lands on it. In consequence, evaluation studies prevents the potential negative circumstances or reduces their effects in future buildings with similar design or function. In this context, every building evaluation and its results provide increase the quality of the existing building design and the design in held. In this study, it is aimed to increase the quality of dormitory buildings as they are very common and popular in Turkey. As a building evaluation study the effective an quick method has been chosed. Regarding to evaluation studies, it is supposed to prevent the repetitive the negative circumstances in buildings with the dormitory function. In this study it is aimed to evaluate the building for both user satisfaction and technical state of the building effectively and rapidly.
