Abstract (EN)

In the content of this study, it is aimed to determine to what extent the cultural elements are included and how they are conveyed to students in the Turkish and Turkish Culture coursebooks of grade 1-3. , 4-5. , 6-7. , 8-10. classes The Ministry of Education Publications prepared for the main language and culture learning of bilingual Turkish children living abroad. The study is composed of the works studied in the texts of Turkish Language and Turkish Culture course books. In this study, all the works examined were evaluated. In this study, the list of cultural elements has been formed by making use of literature and as the book has been studied, this list has been reformed. Moreover, when met a cultural element which was not included in the list before, it has been added to the list. Turkish Culture coursebooks have been studied according to this cultural elements list. Cultural elements in the coursebooks prepared for the Turkish and Turkish Culture lesson which is the basis of the research were determined by the researcher through content analysis. As a result of this study it has been established that in this coursebook cultural elements such as language, religion, customs and usages, history, family and relationships with relatives, clothes and finery, arts, sports, food, beverages and nutrition, religional and national feasts, the elements about motherland, flag and soldiering, Turkey geography and touristic places, national institutions and organizations and universal values have all been included. It has been noticed that these cultural elements have been sought to be conveyed to the learners through texts and pictures.
