Analysis and method of commentary written by Yusuf al-Harpûti on Dâvûd el-Karsi's Şerhu Usûli'l-Hadîsli'l-Birgivî

This study is based on Dâvûd-i Karsi's work called Şerhu Risâleti Usûli'l-Hadis li'l-Birgivî on hadith methodology, written by Yusuf el-Harpûti, one of the last scholars of the Ottoman period. It is the review of the commentary named Karsi alâ Risaleti'l-Birgivî. Our study consists of an introduction and three main parts. In the introduction part, information about the subject of the research, its conceptual framework and institutional infrastructure is given and its importance for the literature is mentioned. In the first chapter, information about the life, scientific personality and works of Imam Birgivî, Dâvûd-i Karsi and Yusuf al-Harpûti is given. In the second part, the copies of the commentary and the libraries in which they were found were determined, and the method followed by the commentator in his work was explained by introducing the Şerhu Şerhi Usûli'l-Hadîs li Dâvûde'l-Karsî alâ Risâleti'l-Birgivî. In the third chapter, the texts written by Imam Birgivî, Dâvûd-i Karsi and Yusuf al-Harpûti were transferred to the computer environment in a regular way.
