In this chapter; the definition, boundaries, purpose, methods and resources of the subject are emphasized. In the second section, significant parts of Yusuf Ziya Pasha's Life were discussed. Yusuf Ziya Pasha (Yusuf Ziyaeddin Pasha) is an important figure in terms of History of Turkish Politics and Art History. Originally Georgian, Yusuf Ziya Pasha, brought to the capital city as a slave at a young age, prioritized his education by appointed teachers and was trained in swordsmanship by horse riding and sword fighting along with his education in religious sciences, calligraphy and accounting works. As a result of these educations, trainings, and his talent, he was appointed to important duties such as Emin of Mining, Grand Vizier twice during the reign of Selim III and Mahmut II, Governor of Trebizond, Bagdad, Basra, Konya and Aleppo, army commandership for more than three years upon France's attack on Egypt, Guardian of Karli-Eli and Chios. For these duties, he has been to a number of cities. In Ottoman Architecture, statesmen such as sultans, pashas and grand viziers contributed to the Turkish Arts and community life both materially and morally by the works of arts they had built both for charity purposes and honoring their own names. The third section is a catalog study. In this section, the works of arts Yusuf Ziya Pasha had built are significant artifacts in terms of their indication of the effect of the West's reflection on Anatolia, considering the century (late 18th century – early 19th century). The artifacts survived until today are Malatya Yusuf Ziya Pasha Mosque and Mausoleum, Çemişgezek Ulukale Village Mosque, Keban Yusuf Ziya Pasha Social Complex, Turkish Bath in Keban County in the City of Elazığ Turkish Bath of Yusuf Ziya Pasha Konak, Erzurum Yusuf Ziya Pasha Mansion (Nüzhet-ül Hazra), Çemişgezek Tağar Bridge and Üsküdar Yusuf Ziya Pasha Fountain (Köşe Fountain). The artifacts mentioned in foundation charters and sources are Abdurrahman Gazi Mausoleum in Palandöken County in the City of Erzurum, Inn in Keban County in the City of Elazığ (Yusuf Ziya Pasha Inn), the Old Kürtkendi Mosque in Keban County in the City of Elazığ, School in Keban County in the City of Elazığ and Turkish Bath in Kelkit County in the City of Gümüşhane. Following the descriptions of the plans, architectures, ornaments and functions of these structure samples, the artifacts were discussed historically and evaluated in their own periods. In the fourth section, the places of these artifacts were attempted to be elucidated in the development line of Turkish Arts by conducting comparisons with the same type of artifacts in terms of plan typology and ornamental style. In this thesis, the foundation charters belonging to Yusuf Ziya Pasha and his wife Ayşe Hatun Foundation, other archive documents and inscriptions were translated and evaluated along with the artifacts. In conclusion, as a result of Yusuf Ziya Pasha's religious and benefactor personality, it was emphasized that he went down in history as a statesmen who had built religious structures such as mosques, madrasahs, mausoleums and social structures such as schools, Turkish Baths, inns, libraries, fountains and bridges in the cities he served. In addition to the multi-functional structures he had built, the Pasha, who engages in arts, demonstrated that he is not only a political figure but also an artistic figure by the calligraphy plaque examples he had fashioned for the Social Complex in Keban. The drawn plans of the artifacts Yusuf Ziya Pasha had built were reviewed and the necessary ones were revised by us. All of the artifacts were investigated on site and photographed. Some of the archive documents were read and evaluated for the first time by us. All of these were included in our thesis.
