Investigation of assertiveness levels, self-efficacy and job satisfaction of swimming coaches (Marmara region case)

The levels of assertiveness, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction of coaches have a significant impact on the development of sports and coach behaviors in Turkey. This study aims to identify the levels of assertiveness, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction of swimming coaches working in the Marmara region and to determine the relationships between these variables. The research is designed in a descriptive and survey model to determine the assertiveness levels, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction of swimming coaches in the Marmara region. The Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale was used to measure job satisfaction levels of the coaches, the Rathus Assertiveness Schedule (RAS) was used to measure assertiveness, and the Coach Self-Efficacy Scale (CSES) was used to measure self-efficacy levels. Descriptive statistics, including arithmetic mean and standard deviation, were utilized to determine the levels of assertiveness, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction. Normality and homogeneity of variances were checked. For parametric tests, the homogeneity of variances is required. Before conducting the analyses, the normal distribution of scores was assessed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S) test, along with the Skewness and Kurtosis values. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 27 software. The data were found to be normally distributed, and parametric tests were applied, including t-tests for binary groups and one-way ANOVA for groups with more than two categories
