Abstract (EN)
Effect Of Foam Roller Applıcatıon On Flexıbılıty And Swımmıng Performance Values In Swımmıng Branch In this study, it is aimed to examine the Effect of Foam Roller Application on Flexibility and Swimming Performance Values in Swimming Branch. A total of 30 swimming athletes, 17 men and 13 women, participated in the study. The athlete group consisting of 30 people was randomly divided into two equal groups. 15 participants who applied the myofascial relaxation technique consisted of 15 participants who performed classical warming. While the control group, who applied dynamic warm-up exercises, had an average age of 11.13 ± 1.6 years, 146.80 ± .14.0 cm height, 41.63 ± 14.3 kilograms body weight, the experimental group was 11.47 ± 1.4 years, Their height is 151.87 ± 9.1 cm and their average body weight is 45.82 ± 8.0 kg. Swimmers who train for 2 hours a day, 4 days a week, and have the same exercise levels were included in the study. In addition to the dynamic warm-up exercises, the whole body myofascial relaxation techniques were performed with foam roller exercises during the warm-up phase of the training, four days a week for 8 weeks. As a result; In swimming athletes who were applied myofascial relaxation, it was observed that the maximal performance grades improved significantly in all four styles after myofascial relaxation method compared to the group that traditionally used dynamic warming (p <0.01). In addition to dynamic warming, it is seen that the experimental group practicing foam roller improved significantly in the sit-lie test. As a percentage, the most improvement was seen in breaststroke style and sit-and-lie test. Coaches, athletes and training scientists; In order to achieve better performance, we recommend using myofascial relaxation method in addition to dynamic warming. In addition, we recommend that the myofascial relaxation method be applied in addition to dynamic warming in order to warm up better and delay fatigue.
