The relationship between career awareness and job finding anxiety of Z generation sports sciences faculty students

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between career awareness levels and job finding anxiety of university students studying sports. This study was designed with the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. "Career Awareness Scale" and "Job Finding Anxiety Scale" were used as data collection tools in the study. The data were collected from a total of 236 students studying at Munzur University Faculty of Sport Sciences in the 2022-2023 academic year. Skewness and kurtosis values were examined to determine whether the data obtained were normally distributed. Since these values meet the normality assumption, independent sample t-test and Anova analysis, which are parametric tests, were preferred for intergroup comparisons. Pearson correlation test was conducted to determine the relationship between students' career awareness levels and their anxiety about finding a job. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25 package program. When the results of the analysis were examined, significant results were determined in the sub-dimensions of the participants' anxiety about finding a job according to their father's education level, students' career awareness scale vocational self-confidence according to the age variable, and vocational readiness according to the grade level variable. In addition, a negative and low-level significant relationship was found between the participants' career awareness and their anxiety about finding a job. As a result, it can be said that as the career awareness levels of Generation Z students studying in the field of sport increase, their anxiety about finding a job may decrease.
