The expectations of generation Z from labour life: A field research

The Z generation, which grows in an age where technology develops rapidly and has difficulty in follow-up and has become a generation that grows with technology, is distinguished from its previous X and Y generations with its many features. For this reason, it is the subject of many researches in Turkey and abroad. Labour life is one of these issues. In this study, a qualitative research has been carried out about the expectations of working class Z university students.. In-depth interview method was used in the research. A group of 23 university students was interviewed and 8 demographic and 9 research questions were asked. The answers given to the questions were examined under 3 main headings. Afterwards, hypotheses were tested by evaluations. According to the findings, Z generation is a generation which is closely related to technology, gives importance to free thinking and justice and expects collective work. As a result, it was suggested that generation Z, which will carry out important works in the future, should be provided with opportunities to meet its expectations in both education and business life.
