Zâhid al-Kevserî's wievs on certain consepts and issues related to the history of the Qur'ân and the science of qirâat

Muhammed Zâhid el-Kevserî was a member of a Circassian family that migrated from the Caucasus. He was born in 1879 in the Hasan Efendi Village of Düzce. His father, being a teacher, ensured that he was raised in a scientific environment. He studied the Primary and Secondary Schools in Düzce and completed his higher education in Istanbul. He also received private lessons and permissions from the leading scholars of the period. He did most of his scientific work in Egypt and died in Cairo in 1952. Kevserî, who had views and works in many areas within the basic Islamic sciences, also contributed with his unique views and works to the fields of Qur'ân history and recitation, which became the main centers of orientalist attacks in the century he lived. Kevserî is of the opinion that the last arza made by our Prophet with Gabriel before his death took place four times instead of twice, contrary to what is known, that the order of the verses and surahs was withheld, that all the mutawatir recitations were recited in the last arza, and that denying these recitations is blasphemy. He stated that the order of the surahs was established by the teaching of the prophet himself, that the condition of two fair witnesses during the compilation of the Qur'ân was not related to the authenticity of the verses, but to the fact that the materials on which the verses were written were written in the presence of the prophet himself. The seven recitations to him are a part of the Qur'ân and these are the mutawatir recitations. In addition, the mutaradifs within the scope of the seven-letter license began during the time of the prophet and were abrogated in the last arza during the time of the prophet. Knowing Kevserî's views on the issues within the science of recitation will be instructive in terms of evaluating them together with the dynamics of the period in which he lived.
