Abstract (EN)

Zaprionus indianus Gupta (Diptera: Drosophilidae) is a pest of tropical origin and a new fruit fly that has been recently seen in Turkey. In this study, the life tables of Z. indianus were studied on artificial diet, apple pulp, tangerine pulp, banana, and control diet in a laboratory (23,5 °C, 65-70% RH, a photoperiod of 14:10 (L:D). The life history raw data were analyzed using an age-stage, two-sex life table. The mean generation was 33,64, 27,98 25,69, 24,85, and 24,70 days on artificial diet, apple pulp, control diet, tangerine pulp banana in deccending order, respectively. The mean fecundity (F) ranged from 413,5 to 830.5 eggs per female, and the highest fecundity was dtermined on artifical diet; the net reproductive rate (R0) ranged from 91.88 to 171.82, and the highest reproductive rate was observed on artifical diet. The instrinsic rate of increase (r) was 0,1390, 01829, 0,1834, and 0,1880 dˉ¹ on apple, banana, artifical diet, tangelina, and control diet in increasing order, respectively. Zaprionus indianus was decreased as the sugar content increased of fruits.
