Abstract (EN)

Zakariyya al-Ansari lived in Egypt during the Mamluk period and wrote many works in various fields of Islamic sciences, especially tafsir, hadith and fiqh. He is a scientifically versatile person. When it is looked at the century in which he lived, it can be seen that it was a very prosperous period in terms of the science of hadith. This study, which focuses on "Zakariyya al-Ansari and His Hadithism", consists of an introduction, three chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction section, we have stated the subject, sources and method of our study. In addition, we have briefly introduced the academic studies on the figure of Zakariyya al-Ansari and his works, both in Turkey and abroad. In the first chapter, we have shared information about the political, social, cultural and scientific situation of the period in which Zakariyya al-Ansari lived. Then, we have discussed his life under two titles. In the first title, we have given information such as his birth, his name, his identity, his lineage, his family, his morals, his asceticism and death. In the second title, we have mentioned his education, his scientific travels, his teachers, his students, the opinions of scholars about him and finally his works. In the second chapter, we have discussed the hadith of Zakariyya al-Ansari. Therefore, we have stated how he evaluated the hadiths in terms of usul al-hadith and where he stood in the existing hadith procedures. We have stated the points he mentioned about the hadith method in works pertaining to other sciences, both while commenting on the Hadiths and while commenting on the published works on the hadith method, and we have also referred the works related to other sciences. In the third chapter , we have revealed the commentary method of Zakariyya el-Ansari's ten-volume printed work titled "Tuhfetu'l-Bârî bi şerhi Sahîhi'l-Buhârî" on Bukhari's el-Câmiu's-Sahîh. We have finished our study with a conclusion based on the results we have obtained in the mentioned sections. Thanks to this study, we have determined the place of al-Ansari, who spent more than 100 years in knowledge and wisdom, in the science of hadith. We have revealed his hadithism by looking at not only his works on the science of hadith but also his other works in basic sciences. Besides, we have read the commentary work called "Tuhfetu'l-Bârî bi şerhi Sahîhi'l-Buhârî" written by Bukhari in his Sahih, which was published in print, from beginning to end, and we have also clearly displayed the method of commenting on the hadiths. Key Words: Hadithism, Tuhfetu'l-Bârî, Commentary Method, Zakariyya al-Ansari, Bukhari.
