Zeynep Cemali's children's books in the context of subject-message-character analysis

Reading is a skill that plays an important role in shaping the child's imagination, nurtering his/her creativity, gaining critical thinking skills and plays an important role in shaping his/her personality. The child should be provided with qualified books in order to goin a reading culture that gives the child an oppurtinity to experience on different experiences. In this context, this research, eight books which written for children by Zeynep Cemali, prepared in the light of a theoretical framework, analyzed in terms of subject, message and character; which was made to determine the suitability of the text as Turkish textbooks. In the study, children, literature and children's literature and children's literature consepts; generated characteristics of children's literature; in the contist of the principles of contemporary children's literature, subject-message-character elements are included. This theorical knowledge was the basis for the study of Works. The model to be used in the research is a descriptive study since it aims to present the existing situation as it is. Since the written texts required to be analyzed and analyzed within the framework of certain principles, the study was carried out with document analysis as a qualitative research. In the research, content analysis was performed in the analysis of the data. In this context, the directive developed by Canlı was used(2016). Zeynep Cemali's books; in the context of subject-massage-character; the appropriateness to elements of contemporary children's literature was evaluated. It has been concluded that the books are constructed in the context of subject-message-character by considering the reality of the child, they are in conformity with the majority of the articles in the directive, they are suitable for use as text in Turkish textbooks and can create literary pleasure in children's readers.
