Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effect of pulp of olive that is waste material (olive pomace) on bitumen and hot mix coating with bitumen was investigated. For this purpose, modified bitumen was prepared by adding 5, 10, 15 and 20% by weight of pomace to a bitumen of penetration class B160 / 200.Physical and rheological properties of pure and modified bitumen were determined by penetration, softening, ductility, glare, dynamic shear rheometer (DSR), beam bending rheometer (BBR), and rotational viscometer (RV) tests.Furthermore, modified mixture samples prepared by using marshall design method with these bitumens have been exposured to many tests marshall stability and yield, permanent marshall stability (RMS), indirect tensile strength (ITS), indirect tensile elasticity modulus (ITSM) and static creep tests. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the most critical value was the 15% ratio in which bitumen hardens generally with the addition of the pomace. After this rate, it was determined that the high temperature performance class of the binder increased but the low temperature performance class decreased. With the increase of this rate, it has been found that the high temperature performance class of the binder increases but the low temperature performance class decreases. In addition, it has been observed that the resistance of the mixtures to moisture damage and permanent deformation is increased with addition of pomace.
