THE DOCUMENTATION OF THE OLD CIVIL ARCHITECTURAL EXAMPLES IN ZEYTİNBA?I (TRİLYE) (Mb. Sc. Thesis) Berrin Akgün GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY September 1995 ABSTRACT In our country, the surveys which are not done sufficiently on belonging to minorities traditional houses that are an important part of our anonymous cultural inheritance. The aim of this thesis is examine the architectural characteristic of Zeytinbağı (Trilye) houses on which scientifical meaning study hasn't been done including all town yet. In our study, we give the information, about Zeytinbağı (Trilye) the natural conditions like topography and climate, the historical background and the old town texture are included. The architectural characteristics of these houses which take place in this texture are examined and, eleven houses which are more characteristic are to the others are included the catalogue. By making an evaluation of the facade treatment and the plan characteristics of Zeytinbağı (Trilye) houses, the relations of these houses to Turkish houses and other traditional Rum houses ones have been examined and conclution has been reached.
