Abstract (EN)
Since 2007, he has been working as a chairman of the Bandirma Museum. Dr. The Late Roman and Byzantine Period unglazed ceramics unearthed during the excavation and restoration studies in Zeytinliada in Ilis Erdek District of Balikesir which was continued under scientific consultancy of Nurettin ÖZTÜRK were examined. All works were first hand-drawn, then digital drawings, and finally catalogs were made. Classification and dated ceramics were made in the light of information and findings obtained from this technical preparation. The political relations of Cyzicus and Zeytinliada in the historical course and the role of both regional and overseas commerce have been tried to be determined in the light of archaeological finds. It was emphasized that the determinations in this sense were the most important determining factor in the formation of the architects of the island and of the ceramics at the same time. In an attempt to answer questions about whether or not ceramics were produced in Zeytinliada or Kyzikos, efforts were also made to determine the location and prejudice of Zeytinliada in the regional trade. In particular, the information provided by ceramic findings emphasized the importance of the monastery structure of the island in terms of Christianity.
