Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of video modelling in teaching the earthquake safety skills to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Moreover, the skill's permanency and its generalization to different environments by the participants were evaluated. In the study, social validity data were collected with the subject evaluation approach from the teachers in the school where the implementation was implemented. The participants consist of three high school students aged 19-22 who were diagnosed with moderate intellectual disability. The person in the video as the model is a peer of the participants with moderate intellectual disability. The study was conducted using the multiple probe design with probe conditions which is one of the single-subject research design. The findings indicated that teaching with video modeling is effective in teaching the skills of establishing a life triangle and going to the emergency assembly area. Furthermore, it was observed that the participants continued to illustrate the skills in the retention sessions carried out seven and fourteen days later. The results also suggested that the generalization was achieved when the participants exhibited the acquired skills in four different contexts other than the teaching context. When the social validity data, collected from the teachers in the school where the participants were educated, were examined, it was seen that the teachers' thoughts about the study were positive. Furthermore, it was observed that the fact that the model in the video was the peer of the participants increased the interest of them.
