Abstract (EN)
There is a strong belief that mental illnesses and sensory differences contribute positively to artists' artistic production and creativity. However, studies show, based on clinical research, that mental illnesses and differences do not always cause such positive effects. Regarding creative productivity, it is more accurate to say that depending on the type and severity of mental states that artists have, such disorders can affect their productivity differently. Nevertheless, the relationship between the works of some famous artists and sensory differences or mental illnesses can be noticed when looking at their works and their life stories. This thesis aims to examine the effect of cognitive differences of the artists discussed in this study on their works, based on the hypothesis that mental illnesses and sensory differences can cause a creative impact on artists, and to reflect this effect on the designed ceramic works. In this study, the most well-known artists who are known to have any mental illness or sensory difference, their brief life stories, mental problems, and the effects of their mental/sensory differences on their works are included. Based on the idea that artists' mental illnesses or sensory differences may be associated with a difference in their brains, even if they are not visible to the naked eye, ceramic brain forms were designed to represent the works of the artists mentioned in the relevant research. In addition, the views of some philosophers were used to understand the relationship between mental illnesses and sensory differences in the brain, and their views were reflected in the designed ceramic brains.
