Ergoteraphy applications on mental retarded individuals

In this research, it is aimed to examine effectiveness of individualized education material in wall building skills prepared with directly education method, in the perspective of reflections of ergoteraphy on occupational education. Wall building skills education was performed with directly education method on four mild mentally retarded students of Düzce Private Education Occupational Education Center under authority of Düzce City National Education Management during 2016-2017 education years via case study method. Data were collected from students, parents and teachers with semi conducted interview form technique. Students subjected to the research started to wall building module at 2015-2016 education year, and followed same module at 2016-2017 education year. In the research, a year period ergoteraphy application data was collected. In the research, wall building job analysis, student, parent, teacher and observer evaluations were collected, their cross sectional evaluations in the same evaluations were compared, and reliability of results were found in the high level. According to results, it was found that lime mortar preparing and brick wall building skills with directly teaching method success rates were found to be over 80%. These results mean that directly teaching method is effective in wall building. Students participated to the research were employed after research. According to results, it was found that individual materials presented with directly teaching method has positive support on occupational education of mild mentally retarded individuals.
