Effecti̇veness of vi̇deo modeli̇ng presented with bug in ear (bie) to teach using community resources skills to individuals with intellectual disability

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of implentation of video modeling presented with auditory technology support (Bug-in-Ear, BIE) on teaching, continuance and generalization of using community resources skills to indivuals with intellectual disability. Besides, social validity of the study was determined by receving opinions of participants, families of participants and stuff working in the setting in where the study take place related to results of the study and functionality of the skills chosen. In accordance with this purpose, paying electric bill, taking the tram and ordering meal and/or bevarage skills were taught with video modeling presented with BIE to three individuals with mild and moderate intellectual disability whose age range is 15-17. Multiple probe design with probe trials across subjects which is one of the single subject research models was used in the study. The findings of the study show that all of the participants have acquired the community resources skills chosen for themselves, have maintained the performance during first, third, 5th weeks after instruction sessions and generalized different settings, situtations and materials. Social validity findings of the study show that participants, families of participants and stuff working in the setting in where the study take place in was pleased with the results of the study.
