Abstract (EN)

Aim of this survey is to understand teachers? views about Teachers? Council Estate to evaluate the information and contribute to programme by identifying functionality of council and applications of council.Research was done on 160 geography teachers who work in the centre of Ankara. In data collection tool, which applied, there are eight questions which dealing with personal information, there are 25 closed-ended questions which dealing with teachers? council estate and there are two open-ended questions.With the aim of scale?s content validity applied expert?s views from Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of geography teacher and major disciplines of social studies education. To define the validity of the structure of scale, factor analysis was applied.The internal consistency coefficient of the poll is defined by Cronbach alpha method. This result is defined as .845 for the whole scale. These results show that scale both current and reliable. While analysing quantitative data?s which are collected with survey, descriptive analysis approach is used. Collected data?s are summarized and commented with the meeting process.Results which are collected with poll analyzed by SPSS 15.0 for Windows programme. While resolving the data?s, T test and one-way analysis variance are applied to define differences between variables.Geography teachers who participate the research have enough information about Teacher Council Estate and they believe that Teachers? Council estate have very important place for education of Geography. They said that its importance increases with the geography curriculum and it is requested that council meeting must be more than two times a year.Teacher?s views about teachers? council estate, who participate survey, show not differences according to variables.Keywords: Council of Teachers' Group
