Abstract (EN)

In 1352, the Ottomans, who became a party in the throne fights of the Byzantine Empire, turned this situation in their favor and settled in Rumelia permanently and subsequently seized the majority of Rumelia. In this process, one of the parties that the Ottomans fought the most was the Serbs. In this context, the Ottoman-Serbian relations followed a fluctuating course as a result of political, military, economic, cultural and marriage relations. The first conquest of Serbian lands began in 1371 when Murat I commissioned the Ottoman army to Serbian lands. Thus, Ottoman-Serbian relations continued with war and alliance. I. Beyazıt and II. Murat's marriage to the daughters of the Serbian king was political. With these kinship ties, the Serbs aimed to prevent the Ottoman attacks, while the Ottomans tried to justify their dominance in the Serbian territory. With the conquest of Belgrade in 1521, the Ottoman-Serbian relations also started a new era. With this conquest, he stayed in the Ottoman territory for about four hundred years on Serbian soil. Engagement and Ahkam books are of great importance in the context of the Ottoman-Serbian relations. Correspondence from Serbian merchants and ambassadors was recorded in these books. These books, permissions to use the ports of the Ottoman Empire, accommodation, road provisions, merchant licenses, the privileges granted to the children of ambassadors, consuls and interpreters and so on. they are very important in terms of content. The books that were the subject of the thesis were examined and evaluated and supported with research resources. As a result, it was concluded that the Engagement Book shed light on a 70-year period between 7 April 1837-14 February 1907, while the Ahkam Book corresponded to a 19-year period between 25 July 1888-25 July 1907. In this process, as a source of Ottoman-Serbian relations as a result of the Book of Engagement and Ahkam is of great importance.
