Abstract (EN)

The administrative, socio-cultural and economic structure of Amasya has been tried to be presented to the researchers by transcribing the sharia registry book dated H.1061-1064/M.1651-1654 and classifying and evaluating the documents in the book according to their subjects. This study consists of three parts. In the first part, the introduction and evaluation of the Şer'iyye Register No. 10 is given. The documents in the notebook were evaluated under two headings according to their subjects. One of these titles; writings coming from the center to the province, the other one; classified as records kept by kadis. Letters from the center to the province; It has been examined under the sub-headings of edict, berat, commanded, temessük and tezkire, giving information about the types of documents, and interpretations have been made with examples from the documents. The documents in the records kept by the kadis were classified according to their subjects and tried to be interpreted with the examples in the registry. It has been tried to give explanatory information about the judicial system, court and court officials, the definition and scope of sharia registers in the Ottoman Empire; Today, the status of the şer‛iye registers and the studies on this subject are mentioned. In the second part, there are summaries extracted from the Şer'iyye Registry No. 10, which was transcribed. In the third chapter, the transcriptioned translation of "Amasya Sharia Registry Book No. 10" is presented to the reader.
