Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of 12 week training program on some physiological and motoric characteristics of 11-14 years old girl and boy athletes and to contrast them according to gender. Height, weight, body mass index (BMI), Cooper test, 50 meter sprint test, spirometry measurements, hematological measurements were made to determine the training program. 20 female and 17 male athletes between the ages 11-14 participated in this study voluntarily. According to research results there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of height (cm) and weight (kg) (p<.05). Otherwise following spirometry and hematological parameters exhibited significant differences after the 12 week training program: FEV1 (lt), MVV (lt/min) and RBC (bilion/mm3), Hb (gr/dL), Hct (%), MCHC, MCH results (p<.05). Both FEV1 (lt) and MVV (lt/min) results were increased after training program (p<.05). There is a significant increase on RBC (milyon/mm3), Hb (gr/dL), Hct (%) results and decrease on MCHC, MCH results (p<.05). Cooper test results were increased but 50 meter test results were decreased. According to female athletes' results; there is a significant increase on height (cm), Cooper test results, FVC (lt), FEV1 (lt) ve MVV (l/dk), RBC (milyon/mm3), Hb (gr/dL), Hct (%) but there is a significant decrease on MCH results and 50 meter sprint results (p<.05). According to male athletes' results; there is a significant increase on height (cm), weight (kg), Cooper test results, RBC (milyon/mm3), Hb (gr/dL), Hct (%) but there is a significant decrease on MCH results and 50 meter sprint results (p<.05).
