Abstract (EN)
Judicial records are one of the most important resources for local historystudies. Judicial records are important resources to enlighten the history of OttomanEmpire with various aspects with their rich content. These records include informationabout the population, grown products, commercial activities, religious and socialstructure of the region which they belong. In addition, studies about judicial recordsprovides knowledge about the administrative organization and judicial structure ofOttoman Empire. Therefore, valuable data about socio-economic history of OttomanEmpire can be maintained. Judicial records are also of importance that provideinformation about the history of societies wich established many states within theboundaries of the Ottoman Empire. Based on the historical importance of judicialrecords, this study has been done in order to contribute to the local history researches. Inthis present study, Ayıntab Judicial Documents Numbered 137, belongs to the years H.1216-1220 (1801-1806 AD) were transcripted and analyzed. These documents,consisting of 87 varak and 172 pages, include 257 judicial, records. It has been seen thatthe documents in this record, which is rich in the variety of documents, are fermans andbuyruldus about tax collection, appointment by letter, assignments of officials andsecurity; hüccets about tutela, heritage and dept; terekes and documents about. In thelight of this documents, we obtained substantial information about socio-economic,cultural, administrative, architectural history of Ayntab for the years H. 1216- 1220(1801-1806 AD). So, information about the influences to Ayntab of socio- economic andpolitical developments occurred in Ottoman Empire in the first half of XIX.
