Abstract (EN)

The subject of this thesis is to evaluate the trade of the region by examining the reports written by the British consulate for the trade of the Khorasan region from 1901 to 1914. The purpose of this study is to examine the trade activities carried out in the Khorasan region during the specified years in the light of consular reports, to identify the exported and imported products and to explain the commercially important goods of the region. At the same time, this study will help us understand the historical and geographical importance of the Khorasan region in trade, and the economic, cultural and strategic effects of trade in the region, by touching on the routes where commercial activities take place. The fact that there are not many studies on the Khorasan region is another reason that prompted me to do a thesis on this subject. This study highlights the commercial importance of Khorasan due to its strategic location and sheds light on the products traded in the region. In this thesis study, consular reports between 1901 and 1914, as well as books and articles written about the period, were primarily used as sources.
