Abstract (EN)
The recorded history of China dates back to the first settlementswhich were constituted next to Yantze River 4000 years ago. Thehistory of China began with Shang Dynasty which had a great culture in1450-1050 BC. In this era, the relation between Turks and Chinesebegan when Zhou Dynasty, a Turkish tribe, subverted Shang Dynasty in1050 BC. The Chinese accessed a great culture and civilization withZhou Dynasty. In 206 BC, with the foundation of Han Dynasty, theadministrative system improved better in China. Mete, who replacedTeoman, became a powerful ruler who could challenge against Chinawhich had not united yet with different invasions. However, Meteentered into his first treaty between two powerful states in Asia bymarrying a Chinese princess; because such a populous country asChina could be administrated only inside the country.China, undergone a period of crash and depression whichcontinued nearly 400 years with the collapse of Han Dynasty, reappeared on the history stage with the foundation of Sui Dynasty.China was administrated by Mongols after AD 907. Manchu Dynastycould dominate the whole China by founding Qing Dynasty only afterMongols in 17th century. From the 19th century, China became acolony of especially England with the interference of western forces. From 1860s, England gave up the policy of defending China?s territoryunity, so this caused the emergence of a big nationalism movement inChina. As for 1900s, after civil rebellions and power struggles whichcontinued approximately 50 years, China began a new period whenMao Zedong proclaimed People?s Republic of China (PRC) on 1stOctober in 1949. Today, China advances in the way of becoming thesuperpower of the 21th century. The relation between Turkey and China improved as from 1990swhen Turkey accredited PRC officially on 1st August 1971. The politicalrelations continue rather as top-mutual visits. China regards Turkey asher foreign supporter in the matter of Eastern Turkistan, a subject aboutwhich China feels very sensitive. Also China suggests the end ofAnkara?s support towards Eastern Turkistan as the preliminary for theimprovement of mutual relations. The geographic distance between two countries, the displaying acomplex structure of Chinese economy which is in a period ofrestructring, both countries? being developing countries and theirproducing the same products, Chinese production?s depending oncheap lab our force and Chinese membership to WTO in 2001 lead to adeficit in the trade between two countries against Turkey.Consequently, China has a view of setting a long-term alliancewith Turkey as a result of her problems with her neighbors and herstrategic alliance with USA and Russia in recent years. So, it will bepossible for Turkey to get larger rooms in her Chinese policy, only bydoing her best in the subject of Eastern Turkistan and overcomingChina?s obsessions in this matter.
