Abstract (EN)
Postmodernism is intensively taken into consideration in 1980s. In this period, artists agree with the theoreticians on the crisis of modernity. It is very important to understand postmodernity and postmodernist art theories developing in this crisis time in order to comprehend today's art. Uncovering the cornerstones of postmodernism requires gathering of many various references and relating these references to establish a theoritical framework. Based on such an approach, first aim of this thesis is to analyse new art mentalities stemming from the ideas of influential thinkers onwards 1980s. The second aim is to look into the changes in art in Turkey with respect to changes in world.
