Abstract (EN)

The study mainly deals with the process of rebuilding the state in Iraq after the United States and its allies invaded Iraq in 2003 and liquidated all Iraqi state institutions. In the study, firstly, the historical narrative of the first stages of the emergence of Iraq as a state after the First World War, when it was subject to the British administration, was kept in the foreground. Then, with the help of England, the actual beginning of the first Iraqi government, represented by King Faisal I, especially in 1921, is discussed. Later, the study also dealt with the republican period following the monarchy in detail, especially after the 1958 coup d'etat. The revolutionary character, military coups, the control of the army and the military class over the state structure, which started in 1958 and dominated the country until 1979, were discussed. After the period until the overthrow of Saddam's administration with the invasion of Iraq by the United States of America in 2003, the years when the former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki was in power, which was an important period in the history of Iraq, were also mentioned. Iraq's tough fight against terrorism and armed groups, as well as the crises between the Iraqi government led by Maliki and Sunni and Kurdish elements, the entry of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Syria terrorist organization (ISIS) into Iraq and occupying one-third of its territory, Former Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi's struggle to liberate Iraq's lands from this organization during the years he was in power is also discussed in detail.
