Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to investigate the teaching of 21st century skills and innovative behaviors from the perspective of teachers. Among 4555 teachers, 374 were randomly sampled from primary and secondary schools in the Başakşehir district of Istanbul province during 2023-2024. Employing a relational survey model, a quantitative research approach, data were analyzed using independent groups t-tests and ANOVA techniques. Teachers' teaching of 21st century skills and innovative behaviors were explored across various demographic variables. Participants responded to a total of 16 questions, including 10 items on the 21st century skills teaching scale and 6 items on the innovative behavior scale. The findings revealed statistically significant differences based on gender, teaching field, educational background, and level of education. Additionally, a significant positive correlation was observed between innovative behavior and the utilization of technology, cooperation, innovation, problem-solving, and teaching of 21st century skills. Based on the data gathered, it is advisable for schools and educators to embrace innovation and receive support from governmental entities. This support can facilitate enhancements in educational materials and the cultivation of targeted skills. Such measures can foster innovation within the educational sphere.
