Abstract (EN)

Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) is a non-homogeneous clonal, hematological disease characterized by a decrease in the number of blood cells and abnormal formations, an inability to conduct hematapoiesis and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). MDS occurs mainly in patients with an average age of about 70 (but not limited to). The incidence of MDS is 100,000 cases in 4 to 5 people per year. The actual incidence is likely to be higher due to incomplete case evaluation or reporting of MDS missing in cancer records, and it is thought that people over 70 may be close to 100,000 at 75. In order to detect morphological dysplasia in MDS, chromosome analysis from the bone marrow and Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH), a molecular cytogenetic method, are performed. FISH analysis is one of the molecular cytogenetic techniques that allows localization of the entire chromosome or specific DNA sequence in the cell. In this study, our aim is to retrospectively examine the molecular cytogenetic analysis of myelodysplastic syndrome patients living in the trakya region for 3 generations and to investigate the effects of the disease in this region. Molecular cytogenetic analyses of 70 men and 30 women, including 100 patients, were retrospectively analyzed. Patient Information and Management System (ENLIL) was obtained. Our patient choices were made from male and female individuals aged 18-80 years who were diagnosed with MDS in this system. Significance was found between disease and gender (p<0,05). Male individuals had more MDS in excess of female individuals, and as age progressed, MDS in both men and women was seen to increase. Our findings; 3 generations of MDS in the Thrace region in the majority of patients with male and female patients over the age of 70 more frequently showed
