The effect level of educational games on motoric features in child gymnasts 4-7 ages

The main objective of this thesis is to investigate the effects of the educational games during the training of the kids of ages between 4-7. All 19 subjects are selected from the members of a club in Suadiye Istanbul, who are divided into groups of 10 and 9 for experiment and control groups, respectively. Both teams have been given basic gymnastic training but the experiment group members played educational games on top. The subjects' performances are measured for sit-lay, still long jump, 20 meters sprint, crunch and timed stand-up and walk tests. The collected data is checked for normal distribution compliance via Shapiro-Wilks test and also checked for skewness-kurtosis coefficients. As the data behaved in accordance with the normal distribution, two-way repeated ANOVA analysis utilized for both intergroup and intragroup comparisons and time-based interactions. The software package used is SPSS 26.0. When the processed data for the first and last test results are investigated, we observed an intragroup variation for the parameters of still long jump, crunch and sit lay activities which indicated that these parameters do not possess any statistically meaningful difference between the groups as well. Moreover, 20 meters sprint and timed stand-up walk parameters did not present any statistically meaningful difference neither in the groups nor among the groups. The main reason that we did not detect any significant difference between the parameters of the different groups is that, since the subjects are in their pre-adolescence, the duration of the trainings are not sufficiently long so as to make an impact on the parameters. On the other hand, the fact that some parameters are high variance among the groups indicates that the training program has a positive effect on the subject's physical development for both of the groups. The next step for this research can be dividing the groups based on gender while keeping the training durations longer than the one used in this work. We strongly believe that this will provide important inputs for the science of training.
