Investigation of the opinions of the psychological counselors and guide teachers working in the school of the counseling and educational measures in the Child Protection Law No 5395

One of the most important duties of psychological counselors and counselors working at schools is the task of counseling measures. Although there are no educational precaution duties in the professional regulations, since there is no clear official statement about which personnel will implement the educational measure at the school, if an educational precaution decision has been made for the child, it can be seen that the task of educational precaution is given to the psychological counselor and guidance counselor by the school administration. For this reason, both counseling and training measures were included within the scope of this research. This research determines the level of knowledge and awareness of psychological counselors and counselors working in schools and who work within the scope of education and counseling measures about these measures, to what extent they can fulfill the procedures and principles in the implementation of the measures, the difficulties they experience during the implementation, the contents of the precautionary decisions they encounter and the number of files and taking precautions. It was carried out to develop suggestions that will assist in their implementation. The research was designed as a descriptive research model. The data was collected through a survey form prepared by examining the studies in the literature. 255 psychological counselors and guidance counselors who worked at the school and served at least once in education and counseling measures participated in the research. In the scope of the research; The knowledge and awareness levels of the majority of psychological counselors and counselors about the measures are sufficient in theory but not in practice, the level of knowledge in the counseling measure is higher than that in the education measure, they have difficulties in implementing the procedures and principles that need to be implemented during the implementation process, there is insufficient cooperation within and between institutions. It has been concluded that the application of counseling measures is related to the field of duty of the guidance unit, while the application of educational measures is not available and the measures benefit the child and the family.
