Abstract (EN)

In the world economy where the conditions get more challenging day by day, the companies are looking for ways to reduce their costs and increase the efficiency to survive. In this effort, Six Sigma with its closed cycle, affects the company culture and forms a baseline for the company. Six Sigma; is a managerial system which statistically measures the process, product or service performance and aims to improve the performance in the perfect way.Six Sigma methodology does not classify the Six Sigma applications as service sector and manufacturing sector. Comparing to the manufacturing sector, although there are still some problems going on with the service sector, the application in the service sector processes are improving lately.Along with its improvement in the world, certain service companies that have decided to increase their profits have begun to incorporate Six Sigma approach into their systems also in Turkey. The lodging companies with their big existence in the service sector have introduced the Six Sigma into their processes as well. Worldwide, Starwood hotels and Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center which has a branch in Turkey, have important spots as being the first lodging companies that have applied the Six Sigma into their systems. Both in the hotel overall and in the department base, they have improved their stabilities and showed that this approach is applicable to service sector as well.
