Defining of accural level of student acquisition in human and environment unit in the curriculum of 7th grade science and technology lesson

This research has been carried out with the aim of defining the accural level of students? acquisition in the `Human and Environment? unit of the 7th grade Science and Technology lesson?s curriculum.The research has been carried out on the 178 7th grade students at the Kubilay Secondary School which is in Kahta town of Adıyaman in 2008-2009 Educational year.In this study has been gained with two means which are an attitude scale and a success test which is evolved by the researcher. Validity and reliability of the Attitude scale, one of the means,has been ensured with an expert thought and a pilot application. And success test has been set up for usage after the calculation of item difficulty and distinctivity index.In the research being conducted in the model of pre and post test,attitude scale and success test has beeen applied to students as a pre test before the unit is worked up and as a post test after the unit is worked up. The post test has been cariied out three weeks after the pre test. The data gained by the application, has been analyzied by using the techniques as one way anova analysis ,independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test. Then in comparing between the groups Turkey test has been used. Search findings has been paraphprased according to the 0,01 significance level. Besides, the difference of post test?s success from the pre test has been analyzed to find out whether there is a significant differnece according to the students? gender, the educational level of their parents, the frequency of their help to their children?s lessons, students? time of internet usage for their lessons per a week, their marks of Science and Technology lesson in their report card in the previous term, the frequency of their watching documentary per a week, number of siblings they have, the time they spend for playing pc games per a week, their frequency of reading science magazines.Students? Science and Technology marks in their report cards,their families? help on their lessons and the persentage of achievement to the acquisition in pre and post tests? effect on students? success points a significant difference has been found; besides frequency of watching documentaries have a significance difference on the effect of students? attitudes towards the lesson.(p<.01) On the other hand,students? gender,their mothers? educational situation, the frequency of their watching documentary, the frequency of following the science magazines, the time they spend on pc games per a week, the usage of internet per a week and number of siblings effect on success, the parents? helping the sudents on their lessons, their mothers? educational situation,their fathers? educational situation, following the science magazines, their playing games on the pc, the usage of internet,number of siblings and their marks of science and technology lesson in their report cards? hasn?t been seen a meaningful difference (p>.01) the effect on their attitude for the lesson in pre and post test.Key Words: Acquisitions, 7th Grade Science and Technology Curriculum, 7th Grade Human and Technology Unit, Science and Nature, Environment Science.
