Abstract (EN)

In the nineteenth century of the Ottoman Empire, the Ayniyat Registers—record books documenting official correspondence sent from the office of the Grand Vizier (Sadaret) to various state institutions, ministries, governorates, and provinces, as well as those received from these entities—are among the documents preserved in the Sublime Porte's Document Room of the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives. These registers encompass a broad array of topics related to the military, administrative, financial, civil, and legal spheres. Within the scope of this study, a transcription and examination of each document in the Konya Ayniyat Register No. 809, which is part of the collection in the Sublime Porte's Document Room, has been carried out for the period between 2 March 1873 and 15 March 1877 (2 Muharram 1290 – 29 Safar 1294). Accordingly, the study provides information on various matters that occurred in the Konya Province between 1873 and 1877, such as debt disputes, complaints (shukka), cases of banditry, murders, incidents of assault and battery, thefts, marriage proceedings, construction activities, migration movements, the appointment and dismissal of officials, as well as matters related to land, waqf, and tax transactions. The aim of this study is not only to contribute to the administrative, legal, social, and economic history of Konya Province—which today includes the cities of Konya, Antalya, Niğde, Nevşehir, Karaman, Aksaray, Isparta, and Burdur—during the years 1873–1877, but also to serve as a valuable resource for researchers investigating the region's history and those seeking to understand developments during this period.
