Abstract (EN)

In the study, the effects of some demographic variables on the predictive power of success motivation on the mental resilience of children aged 9-15 years who play badminton are examined. It has been predicted that research on mental resilience has increased in recent years. Relational screening model was used in the research. A total of 212 athletes, including 113 male and 99 female athletes, aged 9-15, playing badminton, participated in the study. "Personal Information Form", "Mental Endurance Inventory in Sports" and "Sport-Specific Achievement Motivation Scale" were used as data collection tools in the research. In the analysis of the obtained data, descriptive statistics and relational statistics (t-test, Kruskal Wallis one-way analysis of variance and multiple regression analysis) were used. Statistical significance level was taken as p<0.05. When the results obtained in the research are examined: As for the success motivation levels of the athletes; A significant difference was found according to the variables of gender, age, education level, sports age, nationality and reward satisfaction. It was determined that there was a low level, negative significant relationship between the scores obtained from the whole Sports Mental Resilience Scale and the total scores of the motivation to show strength and the motivation to avoid success of the Motivation for Sports Scale. When the independent samples t-test results were examined, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the mental endurance and motivation scores of the athletes according to age and gender. As a result of these findings, it is aimed to bring into the literature by investigating the badminton branch, the concept of mental toughness and the predictive power of success motivation with demographic attitudes. Key Words: Achievement Motivation. Badminton. Mental toughness
