The reconstruction of Turkish agriculture sectore in the process of eu and a sector sample: Grape

In European Union, supporting and directing activities for the agriculture sector are carried out in the extent of Common Agriculture Policy (CAP). CAP is the first common policy of EU and what is more, 50 % of the budget of the union is spared for this target. Turkey is significantly faced to get accustomed to the EU policies to be an exact member. Among these policies, EU Common Agriculture Policy is predicted to be the most time consuming one. EU?s agriculture area, agriculture production and agriculture population will increase through the exact membership of Turkey. This will give a birth to some problems in aspect of Common Agriculture Policy. Therefore, EU wants Turkey to solve its problems before being an exact member. An outstanding reforming process came to light in the year 2000 in the area of agriculture. This reform, which was named as The Application Project of Agriculture Reform, especially aimed to set some standards for agricultural supports and established direct income support system. However, in practical applications the desired results were not gotten and the agriculture sector experienced a worse process. Turkey has gained speed to prepare the related regulations in the area of agriculture as of the year 2001. One of the important laws which were accepted was The Law of Agriculture. This law which was accepted in 2006 was the first legal agriculture law of Turkey. Besides, an agricultural strategy including the years 2006-2010 was prepared. This strategy is important but not enough. Because there are many structural differences between Turkey and EU agriculture sectors. These differences must be removed as soon as possible. To achieve this, Turkey must solve its financing problem and make some relevant changes in its legal structure. Turkish farmers will have some advantages and disadvantages through EU membership. These disadvantages must be well analyzed and the sector must be informed what will be faced with during and after the membership process.
