Abstract (EN)

Kalam is defined in Islamic literature as a discipline that establishes the principles of faith and behavior based on Islamic doctrines and rational methods. Kalam as other Islamic disciplines is studied based on evolutionary changes. It is generally argued that the evolutionary change in kalam as a discipline had been ended by Ghazali. However, some scholars argue that kalam has taken a new turn mostly known as "New Kalam" in post Ghazali period. According to these scholars Abdullatif Harputi is one of the authors who was known a prolific scholar of kalam in the last era of Ottoman State can be categorized as representative of this new period in kalam. One of the reasons that makes Harputi the frontrunner of "New Kalam" period is his work titled Tankihul Kalam Fi Aqaid-I Ahlil Islam. Harputi in his mentioned work tried to redesign kalam discipline based on social and political problems and necessities of the society. For this reason, Harputi's personality and his abovementioned work is worth further research and studying. This study mainly focuses on Harputi's aforementioned work that covers prophethood debates.
