A model proposal in terms of open space and green space planning for the city of Bursa

Open space and green space opportunities have an important determinant of physical and spatial life quality of a city. Instutition of these opportunities can remain in the background, in the fastest growing cities. Although open and green space opportunities are comprehensive concepts based on existing conditions and concepts on development legislations, these opportunities have been limited with open spaces (square, pedestrian zone, bike path), active green spaces (park, playground, sports ground) and other green spaces (picnic spot and zoological garden) in this study. (1) Determining presence of open and green space on the neighbourhood level on the Bursa urban area, (2) Relating this presence with per capita source value and distance and indexing it with the aim of identifying as a joint unit (3) Also proving of effects of unbalanced distribution to neighbourhoods of this presence, in this way identifying the level of effective open and green space opportunities, (4) Transforming reached findings to equal index curves map that identifies open space and green space opportunities spatially and constituting a preliminary base for physical urban planning.
