Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, it is aimed to develop a new method based on internal use of strengthening the substructure of open mine haul roads of sprayed concrete (shotcrete) and fiber reinforced shotcrete. A different perspective has been introduced to the shotcrete process in order to determine design parameters of the concrete. Moreover, it has been examined how the load carrying capacity changes according to state of the fiber material in the shocrete. Two seperate experiment series have been carried out for this thesis. In the first series of experiments, the specimens were prepared as horizontal layers. Five different specimen groups were created. These are; plain concrete without fiber, single layer, two layer, three layer and four layer. How the load carrying capacity of the specimens is changed according to the number of fibre layers. The information obtained by the first series experiment test results and the number of layer, one of the design parameters determined for this study. The second set of test specimens were prepared in seven groups to prepare at least 5 specimens per group. These groups are seperated as plain concrete, horizontal 3kg/m3 fiber, horizontal 5 kg/m3 fiber, vertical 3 kg/m3 fiber, vertical 5 kg/m3 fiber, mixed 3 kg/m3 fiber and mixed 5 kg/m3 fiber. Unformity in the tensile modulus curves of the samples due to irregular fiber distribution was observed in the mixed fiber samples were found to have a higher load carrying capacity than the plain concrete specimens. It was observed that this capacity increased with the increase of fiber amount
