Abstract (EN)
Obesity, which has become a universal problem with increasing malnutrition and inactivity, is known to be a preventable disease. It has been observed that the use of fatty acids in energy consumption is increased during exercises especially fasting state compared to the exercises performed in the case of fed state due to decreased insulin. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of low and high intensity resistance exercises on recovery energy use and fat oxidation in overweight women. Participants consisted of overweight / obese10 women who were familiar with strength training techniques. After the determination of exercise loads, 8 basic exercises of 8TM and 16TM loads were performed and the exercise sessions were performed 4 times during fasting and fed state. Respiratory gases were analyzed with gas analyzer for 2 hours after each session and fat oxidation (gr / min) and energy expenditures were calculated over VO2, VCO2 values obtained. Friedman test and Wilcoxon signed rank test were used to compare the inter-application and rest and recovery data. Although there was a significant difference in fat oxidation between rest and recovery in 16TMfed, 8TMfed and 16TMfasting sessions, there was no significant difference between the four applications for recovery. In this study, it can be said that post-exercise fat oxidation in overweight / obese women is not affected by the intensity of exercise and hunger-satiety.
