Prof. Dr. Mustafa YEĞİNThis research has been conducted in the open and green areas of AdanaNorth-east Urban Development Area covering northern part of Yüreğir town,İncirlik, Kürkçüler, Suluca, Yakapınar, Buruk, Sofulu, Balcalı, Menekşe, Akkuyu,Beyceli, Çarkıpare Boynuyoğun, Bayramhacılı and Çınarlı settlement areas. Theobjective of this research is to examine the current open and green areas in thephysical structure of North-east Adana, to investigate the approach of theconstruction plans to the issue and to identify the activities, which must be carriedout in the future within the scope of urban development plans and measures to betaken with an open space system complying with the population for the next years.According to the results obtained from the research, it is found out that openand green areas in the area of work is insufficent for the increasing population,neglected and unable to meet the needs. In order to improve this structure, campus ofÇukurova University should be combined with green passage system and its greenarea needs should be met.Key Words: Open and Green Areas, Landscape, North-east Adana.II
