The investigation of the root diseases reasons in the wheat sowing in the Adana region

Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out into wheat growth areas in the countries Yüreğir, Ceyhan, Karataş, Kozan, Yumurtalık, Karaisalı, İmamoğlu of province Adana and the countries Yenice and Tarsus of province İçel. Survey caried out total 68 wheat growth fields. In the survey, root and crown root diseases and also some leaf and head diseases and pests were noted. As a result of the isolations done from the samples taken five Fusarium, two Rhizoctonia and one Pythium species were isolated as pathogen. As a result of the definition Fusarium oxysporium, F. semitectum, F. crookwellense species were determined. As a result of the observations done in the field during the survey, after the shooting powdery mildew (Bulmeria graminis tritici), brown rust (Pucinia recondita tritici), during the flowering, wheat loose smut (Ustilago tritici) and harmful pest afid in many fields and wheat loose smut (Oulema melanopus L.) were determined.Time-Temperature windows is shown a basic temperature collection from sowing time to hervest time, is strict rule for optimal wheat growth and rot root diseases effect unproduct in Çukurova region wheat field, is occured. As making time-temperature windows, day-degree accumulation was 2568 in the wheat sowing done in the Nowember and 2147 in December during the 2006-2007 wheat growth season, summery wheat sowing and it was determined that the both values were more than around 1700 day-degree accumulation necessary for a good yield, too.
