Abstract (EN)

This work; The aim of this study was to see the acute effect of kinesio tape applied to the knee in boys playing football and basketball on balance and to compare balance tests. The study was carried out with 80 volunteer athletes in selected 2 football and 1 basketball sports academies. The participants in the study were amateur athletes whose age range was 13-16. Attention was paid to the fact that the athletes were in the same height range in general and the athletes who did not have any health problems were selected. Y Balance Test and Flamingo Test were used as balance tests. The process was explained to the athletes before the tests were done. Balance tests were applied and recorded before taping. Afterwards, mechanical correction technique, which is one of the kinesio taping techniques, was applied to the right and left knees of the athletes, with 65%-75% tension. After the application, the balance tests were repeated and the study was performed 3 times with the same procedures in order to increase the reliability of the study. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 for Windows. The mean of the first measurement K-band result in the basketball group was statistically significantly higher than the measurement in the football group (p<0.05). However, the differences of all other measurements between basketball and football groups were not statistically significant (p>0.05). In all measurements of basketball and football groups, K band measurement values were higher than normal measurement values when Y Balance test was examined (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant relationship between K-band flamingo balance test results and sport type and age (p>0.05), there was a statistically significant and positive correlation between height and leg length with Flamingo Balance test (r=0.238; p<0.05). There is a significant relationship between the mean of the k-band flamingo test and the non-k-band flamingo test (p<0.01), the correlation between the Flamingo balance test and the right-left total and the banded-right-left total (p>0.05). The data in both tests with K band were lower than the groups without K band. Kinesio band has a positive effect on balance.(p<0.05)
