The study on Adıyaman/Tut folk culture

In the study, the practices and beliefs of the Tut district of Adıyaman province and its villages during the transition periods consisting of birth, circumcision, military service, marriage and death; holidays, ceremonies and celebrations, folk cuisine, folklore, oral history, plays and anonymous folk literature products are emphasized. Thus, it is aimed to reveal the folk culture products of Tut district and its villages. In the introductory part, which constitutes the first part of the study, the subject, purpose, scope and boundaries of the study, the method and the history, geographical features, population, economic structure, socio-cultural structure of the study area are discussed. In the second part of the study, after the data obtained from written sources while evaluating the public life of Tut district, the beliefs and practices obtained from oral sources during our compilations in the region are included. In the third part of the study, anonymous folk literature products belonging to the region are included. Anonymous folk literature products were evaluated by dividing them into sections as verse, verse-prose and prose. In addition, the products obtained as a result of the compilations were examined in terms of form and content. In the fourth part of the study, there is the Conclusion, which includes the data and determinations obtained as a result of the study. After the Conclusion, there is the List of Source Persons from whom we have compiled data in the field, Bibliography, Dictionary of Local Words and Appendices. Photographs of some elements of Tut's folk culture are given in the appendices. It has been revealed by this study that the traces of the beliefs and practices of the ancient Turkish belief system continue to exist in the Tut folk culture. In addition, in the rapidly developing and changing world, the reflections of adapting to innovations in the Tut folk culture without putting the tradition aside have been determined. In conclusion, as a result of the old Turkish belief system, the influence and contribution of Islam, the practices and beliefs of today's developments, today's Tut folk culture has emerged.
