Abstract (EN)

Study area there is a relatively small synclinorium in the North eastern South west of the village of Kaş, Biritüfün Tepe and Konit Tepe, located in the North west of Adıyaman. Here, the limestones of the Hoya Formation, which are trapped in the main synclinal axis developed in the K55D direction and between the faults intersecting the synclinal axis at different angles, prepared the environment for the formation of commercially popular Emprador type marbles by gaining tectonite structure by compressive and rotational movements. Emprador production trial began in the 200s; with the increase in investments in 2010, the area was described as Emprador BASİN.. Emprador marbles, which have a wide range of receptors, were able to find buyers as blocks in the first years due to the excessive wastage in filling-reinforcing with the advancing technology and the receiver potential was provided to progress steadily. Due to the fact that the area is a sycline basin and a water collection basin according to the environment, the karstizations occurring along the joints and faults formed here have had a negative impact on the block production. Therefore, the determination of discontinuities here will have an imoact to reduce environmental damages and production cost during and after production. During the transformation of the units in the study area in to tectonites, the unit was broken and rotated in different sizes, the edges were shredded and cemented again. In order to determine the degree of disintegration by using "Dıgıtal Image Processing"program on the computer, the images developed after rotational status on the products obtained from the marble rock samples collected from the quarries opened in the study area were examined. It was determined that the samples obtained from the areas surrounded by non-parallel active strike slip faults underwent further rotation and fragmentation. Samples obtained from areas that are not surrounded by fault frol all sides are less fragmentation. As a result, in tectonite formation, being surrounded by strike slip fautls increases the degree of fragmentation.
