The Afghan Dynasty founded by Ahmed Shah Durrani in 1747 had become a great countryin a very short time, that has borders from Amu Derya to İndian Ocean and Khorasan to Dekken. As a cosequence of the poor ruling of Timur Shah, who had taken the throne after the death of Ahmet Shah Durani, the foundations of the country started to shake largely. With the death of Timur Shah without choosing an heir to the throne, the following 40 years passed by the Throne Wars between Timur Shah's sons. The era of Barakzay Dynasty in Afghanistan started when Dost Muhammed took the throne. Dost Muhammed Khan had transformed "Afghan Dynasty" to "Afghan Emirate" with persuing a superior politics and strategy. After the Death of Dost Muhammed Khan, his son Emir Şir Ali Khan took the Afghany thron. His visit to İndia in 1869 made Emir Şir Ali Han realise how undevoloped his country that had surrounded by two great forces like Russia and England was. Emir Şir Ali Khan started a modernization movement in military, administrative, economical and social areas to improve and strenghten his undeveloped country. Abdurrahman Khan, who became the next Afghany Emir after Emir Şir Ali Khan, had menaged to create a society that strongly tied to central authority from an unsubmissive and free spirited one. After Emir Abdurrahman Khan his oldest son Emir Habibullha Khan took the throne. A lot of reforms in edicational, military, administrative and social area had been made during the reign of Emir Habibullah Khan. Comminication had improved, trading volume had grown and transection to modern industry had completed. At the same time Emir Habibullah Khan had great struggles for Afghanistan to be recognized as a self-contained country. While Emir Habibullah Khan had menaged Englands to accept Afghanistan as a self-contained goverment, foreign affairs of the country had continued to be subject to the England administration in India.
